Lenka Knoetze is a Slovak national, currently living with her South African husband in Stellenbosch. Her love for art has always been a predominant passion, which was affirmed during her studies at School of Applied Arts of Josef Vydra in Bratislava, Slovakia.
After graduating in 2009, she pursued theological studies in Banská Bystrica. During this time she recovered from artistic burnout and in 2012 moved to Kumasi, Ghana, working with missions organisation Operation Mobilisation (OM), where she rediscovered her love for art and design. This time followed by working in Stockerau, Austria as graphic designer for OM EAST, mainly gaining experience in international publishing industry and general print prep. abilities. In 2016 she moved to Pretoria, South Africa, where she continued working in OM as a graphic designer, growing her knowledge of social media, marketing strategy and content creation, while maintaining good working relationships with multiple clients globally. During the memorable “covid years” of 2020 and 2021 she relocated to Stellenbosch, where she lives and continues to work today.
2018-2021 have been years of gaining more confidence as a creative and giving more space to artistic pursuits like illustrating children’s books for self-published authors worldwide, but also engaging with local artists community, by helping organize The Transept Gathering 2021 – a conference for local Christian Artists. Bringing beauty into people’s everyday lives has become a motto and a passion and it’s also a reason for this website. Get in touch!
